Apres in Whistler | Happy Hour Edition

Apres in Whistler Happy Hour Edition

After a long day in the mountains, what could be better than knocking back a cold one and sharing a platter of nachos with friends during Whistler’s happy hour? Come together, reminisce on the day, and fuel up for the evening. This is the beauty of après – it’s more than having a beer with friends, it’s a way of life in Whistler!

Whistler Happy Hour conveniently lands around the same time as the mountain closes or when you’re feeling tired and thirsty after a dusty bike ride. It is typically a time around 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM that offers visitors discounts on food and drink.

Please note that the Happy Hour specials listed below were valid at the time of writing, however, may have changed. Check directly with the restaurant beforehand.

Happy Hour in Creekside Whistler

Creekside is the original base of Whistler mountain and the site of the first gondola. Though the action has moved five kilometres north to the main Whistler Village, Creekside is home to some hidden gems that offer a more laid back vibe than its bustling counterpart.

Creekside is easily accessible via a short car or bus ride from Whistler Village or by the paved and scenic Valley Trail. Find the best Happy Hour in Whistler and see what Creekside is hiding!

Great drinks and delicious cocktails on special at the Cure.

Within the gorgeous Nita Lake Lodge is Cure Lounge & Patio – the perfect spot to relax and enjoy Happy Hour after a day on the slopes or in the bike park. In the winter, the cozy lounge has a wood burning fireplace and in the summer, the doors open up to a stunning lakeside patio.

Happy Hour here is between 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM Monday to Thursday, where guests can enjoy food and drink specials such as house wines for $7 and select beers for $6. On Sunday they have après drink pricing available all day, with complimentary bites also available from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Hop on their free shuttle to or from Whistler Village to see what Cure Lounge & Patio has to offer!

Another great local pub in Creekside is Roland’s Creekside Pub, located next door to Nita Lake Lodge. Roland’s is the place to cheer on your favourite sports teams on their big screen TVs, rub shoulders and exchange stories with locals, or play darts and drink a pint of Canadian. Although they don’t have a designated Happy Hour, they have free parking, free wifi, and daily food and drink specials. For those after a no-nonsense, true pub experience in Whistler – head to Roland’s.

Arguably the best place for pizza in Whistler, Creekbread has been a local favourite for years. It also makes a great destination with kids! It is located right off highway 99 next to the Husky gas station, has free parking, and is a short stroll from the base of the Creekside Gondola. Warm up in the cozy restaurant heated by their massive wood-fired oven and enjoy a double margarita ($10), a glass of wine ($5), or sleeve of beer ($5) during their Whistler Happy Hour between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM.

Happy Hour in Upper Village Whistler

The Upper Village offers the best of both worlds – a secluded alpine setting that’s still close to all the action in Whistler Village. It’s a short ten-minute stroll from the main village via a scenic and paved trail and is home to the Blackcomb Gondola and many restaurants and boutique shops and hotels.

While it can be sleepy during shoulder seasons, the Upper Village comes alive in the summer with the popular weekly Farmer’s Market and a Family Adventure Zone featuring bungee trampolines and mini golf. Walk, bike, or ski (in winter) to the Upper Village to find your favourite Whistler Happy Hour.

A patio and great happy hour specials!

Handlebar is the spot for craft beer, après ski (and bike), and German-inspired comfort food in Whistler. They offer not one, but three Happy Hours throughout the day – 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, and 10:00 PM to 11:00 PM – where they have select BC craft beers on for $5.75. They have the most unique list of craft beers in Whistler and constantly rotate them (their current list can be found on their website).

The bar itself is quite small inside, but they have a great outdoor patio that spills out onto the Upper Village stroll and has heat lamps and fire pits in the winter. In the summer, it’s a great place to meet post-bike park as you can keep a close eye on your bike from next to your seat on the patio. Grab a pint, park yourself on the patio, and share fried pickles, crispy brusselssprouts, and a bowl o’ frites – is there anything better?

Located inside the Fairmont Chateau Whistler is The Mallard Lounge, a casual locale that is the place to go in the winter for live music, a roaring fireplace, and amazing service. In the summer, visitors can enjoy their sunny terrace nestled beside the slopes of Blackcomb Mountain. Guests of the hotel and the public are welcome to partake in the Mallard’s offerings.

The Mallard is known for their epic cocktails, amazing live music, and chicken wings that will knock your socks off. At certain times of the year, they have “Fairmont Fridays” where during Happy Hour, servers walk around with trays of complimentary appetizers for patrons of the lounge!

Known as ‘Whistler’s Coziest Pub’ is the Fitzsimmons Pub in Whistler’s Upper Village. They’re Whistler’s BC craft beer headquarters with eight rotating taps of BC’s best craft beer, wine, and arguably the best caesar in Whistler.

Fitz Pub’s Happy Hour is weekdays from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and have screaming deals on drinks – $4 single wells, $5 any draft beer, and $5 any wine. If you’re seeking an intimate, local vibe Fitz is the place to be.

Happy Hour in Main Whistler Village

Get amongst the hustle and bustle for the best Whistler Happy Hour. The Village is filled with great restaurants, pubs, bars, and lounges to keep you hydrated and well-fed.

Off the stroll on Main Street is Pizza Antico, a great sunny spot to grab a pint of craft beer and enjoy a wood-fired pizza. Every day from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM is their Whistler Happy Hour where all pints of craft beer is $4 – an amazing deal! They have an extensive craft beer selection but also offer cocktails, wine, and cider.

A little something for everyone at Earls Whistler.

With a central location, sunny patio, and the best Happy Hour in Whistler, Earls Happy Hour takes the cake for having the most extensive list of deals between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM (and 10:00 PM to close). It’s the perfect place to go if no one can make a decision as they have everything from sushi to ribs. It is an all-around great place to grab dinner. Whether you’re in to watch the game, unwind with coworkers, or have the family in tow, Earls fits the bill. It may be a chain restaurant, but a beloved one by locals and visitors for the great service, value, and food.

Located in Whistler’s newest pod hotel, Pangea, The Living Room is a bright, vibrant, communal cafe and restaurant that hosts guests of the hotel and the public for breakfast, lunch, dinner, après, and drinks. It’s Whistler Village’s only rooftop patio and has inviting family-style tables perfect for playing one of their many board games, having a meeting, or catching up with friends. Happy Hour at The Living Room is from 1:00 PM to close where they have deals on beer, shots, cocktails, and wine.
