Planning a Bachelorette in Whistler? Everything You Need to Know

Banner perfect bachelorette party

Say sayonara to singledom in an epic send-off in Whistler with your closest girlfriends. Forget Vancouver bachelorette ideas, Whistler is the place where no one knows your name and the vibe is fun and friendly. You can truly feel away from it all while not being that far away. Enjoy a few of the finer things the resort has to offer on your bachelorette weekend.

Why Whistler is the Perfect Destination…

Located an hour and a half from Vancouver, Whistler is easy to get to and once you’re here, there’s no need to worry about logistics on how to get from brunch to the beach. Everything is at your fingertips here – from stylish hotels, amazing restaurants, shopping, activities, spas, and nightclubs.

…for the Adventure Girl

Adventurous brides will have no shortage of fun outdoor activities to partake in – from skiing in the winter to hiking and biking in the summer. Don’t forget about axe throwing anytime of year! If motorized adventures are more her thing, there’s snowmobiling in the winter and RZR tours and ATVs in the summer.

…for the Party Girl

With five nightclubs and endless bars and pubs, you will never be thirsty in Whistler. Try your hand at sabering champagne at the Barefoot Bistro or donning thick winter coats and sampling the finest vodkas at -32C in the Ketel One Ice Room. Whistler even has Butlers in the Buff to keep you laughing and to keep your glass full. DJs keep the music spinning until 2:00 AM, so get on the guest list and dance the night away.

Getting To and From Whistler

A private shuttle van in Whistler

Choose one of the many private shuttle services between YVR and Whistler

From Vancouver, Whistler is a quick hour and a half drive along the beautiful Sea to Sky highway. Once you’re in Whistler, there’s no need for a car and all hotels charge for parking so why not treat yourself with a private transfer in a limousine or mini-bus to keep the group together in style.

Depending on the size of the group, a shuttle transfer may be an option with pick up options at Vancouver International Airport and Downtown Vancouver. Harbour Air also offers floatplane transfers in the summer from Vancouver International Airport and Downtown Vancouver as well, saving you time and providing a wonderful sightseeing experience as well.

From Seattle, flying into Vancouver International Airport is a quick hop, skip, and a jump away where jumping into a private transfer or shuttle to Whistler is easy as can be. Driving to Whistler from Seattle takes about four hours depending on the line up at the border, so why not take advantage of the strong American dollar and save yourself the stress by leaving the car at home.

Best Accommodation in the Village

Whistler Village Summer time

A little meander through the Village to crystal lodge

Within Whistler Village, there’s a number of hotels and vacation rentals to choose from. Do note that some hotels do not allow bachelor/bachelorette parties to stay and some require all guests to be age twenty-five and older. It’s best to be upfront about your plans to avoid any potential conflict and to keep the vibes fun and stress-free!

  • The Westin Resort & Spa is located right next to the Whistler Village Gondola and steps from all the action of the Village while being just far enough away to enjoy a bit of peace and quiet once the night is done. Choose from studio apartments to penthouse suites and enjoy on-site restaurants, shops, a full-service spa and indoor/outdoor pool and hot tubs.
  • The Crystal Lodge is centrally located and has 158 well-appointed and comfortable rooms that’ll keep you close to all the action. It has a heated outdoor pool and hot tub and guests enjoy the perks of their ‘Crystal Advantage Program’ that gives them discounts at nearby shops and restaurants.
  • The Adara Hotel has undergone a change in management and has had a fresh renovation making it a wonderful spot for a bachelorette weekend. It’s a boutique hotel with only 41 rooms right next to the Village Stroll. A heated outdoor pool and hot tub and steps away from a bachelorette party favourite Buffalo Bills and Stonesedge Kitchen & Patio.

Summer Season Bachelorette Ideas

With sunny days and plenty of patios, Whistler is a great place to visit in the summer for a bachelorette weekend. Get out on the water at one of Whistler’s five local lakes or cool off on an alpine hike. Those seeking adventure will definitely find it in Whistler with these unique activities you won’t find in Vancouver bachelorette ideas.

Imagine seeing a bride with her veil blowing in the wind during a ziplining tour! Head to Cougar Mountain to fly down four ziplines that run parallel so you can race your bridesmaids to the finish line. Trails and boardwalks link the ziplines and you’ll be amazed at the spectacular scenery of the surrounding mountains and valley below. A harness is a perfect accessory to go along with your bride and bridesmaid outfits.

Got a bridezilla on your hands? Throw her off a bridge – kidding! Take her Bungee Jumping with Whistler Bungee, a 160-metre drop over the glacier-fed Cheakamus River. Cross it off the bucket list and send the future husband the most epic weekend update photo ever – a shot of his fiancee taking the plunge!

On a hot summer’s day, there’s nothing better than being splashed with cold water straight from a glacially-fed river. It’s also the perfect activity for groups and is a great mix of adrenaline-inducing and stunningly beautiful. Whitewater Rafting is a wonderful activity for a bachelorette weekend and you can choose from the 2.5 hour-long Green River rafting trip to the 8-hour Squamish-Elaho Expedition. Guaranteed good times!

Winter Season Bachelorette Ideas

Experience a bachelorette weekend in the snow – something that won’t work with Vancouver bachelorette ideas. There’s something magical about spending the day up the mountain, dancing into the evening with your ski boots on and doing it all again the next day!

Slash pow with your bridesmaids for a day of incredible Skiing or Snowboarding on WhistlerBlackcomb. It’s the best cure for a hangover, and the spot to go for the hair of the dog. Spend the morning making fresh lines and enjoy an incredible lunch at Christine’s on Blackcomb for fine dining at two thousand feet.

Get the crew dressed in plaid and partake in the extremely Canadian sport of Axe Throwing. First timers are welcomed and encouraged by the expert hosts at Forged Axe Throwing that will turn you into a pro in no time. Give your laughing muscles a workout as you challenge each other in a competition to become the axe throwing champion of the evening.

After a long bachelorette weekend, soothe sore muscles and relax at the Scandinave Spa. Honour the Finnish tradition but following the hot-cold-relax system by first soaking in hot tubs, steam rooms, and the sauna before taking a cold plunge then relaxing in hammocks or solariums. To keep the tranquillity of the spa, there is no talking or electronics allowed – so pick up a magazine or bring a book to spend a few hours unplugged in silence sure to rejuvenate your mind and body.

Late-Night Bachelorette Ideas

For those looking to dance until the lights come on, there are many places to do so in Whistler. Buffalo Bills is a notorious haunt that draws in bachelor and bachelorette parties and makes it a fun spot to meet new people, play games, and dance the night away. Moe Joe’s and Garfinkel’s are also popular with live musical performances, renowned DJs and great drink specials attract local crowds. If guest lists and line ups aren’t your jam, opt for a club crawl that will get you front of the line access and a drink at different clubs in town as you travel with a group of other fun-loving people.

For those looking to stay above ground (all of Whistler’s clubs are underground), head to Cinnamon Bear Bar & Grill in the Hilton Hotel for chill lounge vibes and cocktails or to Brandy’s at the Keg for late night snacks and beverages. For those in the Upper Village, the Mallard Lounge at the Fairmont is extremely relaxed and serve fancy cocktails and have great live music and a roaring fire in the winter.

A Hen Party for the Books!

Whistler has it all for a bachelorette weekend that will be talked about even after the wedding. It’s the perfect mix of outdoor adventures, epic activities, parties, restaurants, and relaxation. It has all the modern amenities of Vancouver bachelorette ideas but in a cute mountain town away from the hustle and bustle.

Treat the bride to a weekend away from the stress of planning and organizing a wedding to spend quality time with her closest girlfriends in the most beautiful place in the world.
